The ability to forward images, videos, GIFs, and documents, with a caption has been released to some users that install the latest version of WhatsApp from the App Store it rolling out to more users over the coming days. WhatsApp works across mobile and desktop even on slow connections, with no subscription fees. As always, forwarded media with a caption are end-to-end encrypted so nobody can see the content of the forwarded message. Note that as mentioned above, this feature is not limited to images but you can also forward videos, GIFs, and documents, without losing the caption. ![]() In addition, thanks to the dismiss button, it is also possible to remove the caption from the image before forwarding the message in case you don’t want to forward the caption. As you can see in this screenshot, you need to forward an image with a caption in order to discover if the feature is enabled for your account: in case it is available, a new view will show up at the bottom of the screen.
